Nestled in the quaint little town of Menan, Idaho ~ just off the famous South Fork of the Snake River ~ you will find TETON HOUSE restaurant (formerly Watson’s Bar & Sandwich Shop). The restaurant resides in one of Idaho’s historical landmarks, the Menan Bank, built in the early 1900’s. The stone building architecture beckons to the history buff. The inside may have been renovated a few times, but TETON HOUSE plans to continue to retain and further the historical feel.

Proprietors Leo Hancock and Danielle Dexter recently moved from Washington State to set up permanent residence for their family in Rigby, Idaho, and purchased the restaurant building at the end of 2016 to begin building their dream.

Leo ~ who has a reputation for a mean steak ~ previously offered catering services and events in his lodge style property in the mountainous hills of North Bend, WA. And Danielle comes from a culinary background herself, both in her education and in her chef, management and front end roles in various businesses and organizations in Western Washington.

The restaurant’s ambiance will continue the historical feel from previous evolutions of the building. They will also keep in place the painted landscape mural on the outside wall, done by Idaho Falls artist John Martin, as well as the inviting outside eating area. The new proprietors will be adding in a smoker to continue their planned American steakhouse and NW cuisine direction. It’s all part of the plan to make TETON HOUSE a destination eatery for people from around the region, as well as the stopping place for travelers to Tetons, Yellowstone and other landmarks and close by destinations.
